About the t-shirts....Joaquin is a socially-conscious person so he might just go along with those ideas. He starred in a video for PETA last year which was broadcast at the same time as the Oscars.

But, to be honest … there is no effect on your real life. And if I said so in the past, I was probably only trying to get nominated (he’s been nominated twice). “And now that that’s done, [laughs] I can finally be honest.” FYI: Yes, the main image is Photoshopped! The original sign read, “Please ring the bell to open the gate for deliveries.” Hehehe.

It was a year ago that we were watching Joaquin at the BAFTAs  This year's BAFTAs awards have just started (7pm GMT), but no Joaquin or Joaquin related films are nominated this year...  Oh well, i think Leo DiCaprio will win best actor seeing as Joaquin isn't nominated! It's bizarre that the awards aren't broadcast live, they aren't shown until 9pm GMT.

The weather was awful last year; they were all freezing in a sleet blizzard on the red carpet, remember? The weather has calmed down a lot today (sunny and no gale-force wind where I am, unlike the last few days) so maybe the same in London.
Anyway, no Joaquin at the Baftas and no Bafta-watching for me. Listening to music instead.

Joaquin's favorite day of the year is here again, the good ol' tasteless carrot awards (aka The Oscars).
Her is nominated for the following 5 Oscars:
Best Picture Best Original Screenplay - Spike JonzeBest Original Song - "The Moon Song" Karen O. and Spike JonzeBest Original Score - William Butler and Owen PallettBest Production Design
Because it's up for Best Picture, I guess there is a chance Joaquin (and other actors) could attend  We shall see!

Admin, I really don't think Joaquin will be there but Amy Adams will be and possibly Scarlett Johannson, although not specifically for any connection with 'Her'.
I'm guessing you're going to stay up and watch events unfold at the Oscars? I won't be here, but I hope you have some company on your vigil.

The writer/director of Her accepted the award with a gracious (if initially stumbly) speech, thanking friends and family whom he imagined standing onstage beside presenters Robert Deniro and Penelope Cruz. 2015 Best Actor contenders
"Joaquin Phoenix (Inherent Vice) – I think we can all agree that Phoenix will win an Oscar one day, it’s just a matter of when. With his second collaboration with Paul Thomas Anderson, an opportunity is front and center, provided of course that the material isn’t too out there for the average Academy member. We shall see, but rightt now you have to at least be considering him heavily."
