Aww Admin! You should join in more... Smile

Here's a quote for you...

In the unlikely event I ever become president of a company, my first order of business will be to promote the janitor to executive vice president. Then I'll call him into my office and say "All right, Herb, I want you to tell me what's going on in the company. Care for a drink before we begin? I think I have a bottle of Scotch around here someplace."
"Lower left drawer of your desk," Herb will reply, "Right behind your box of El Puffo cigars, which, I might add, are excellent."
— Patrick McManus, The Good Samaritan Strikes Again

So, I was thinking, Admin is such a generic term....do you have a name? And if you don't want to tell, can we call you Herb? Smile

Thanks for the list of films...I've heard of 'The Master', 'Amour' & 'Beasts of the Southern Wild'. I've read that BotSW will do well at the Oscars.

Thank you guys , I'm so thrilled to hear you care soooo much about me , not just for the work I do ( wink wink )Laugh Laugh

Admin,
I enjoyed the Sight and Sound list. I luv it coz it's a way for me to explore other good films I wouldn't know about ! I wonder if this Sight and Sound thing is a big deal whithin the film world .. Do u know ?

Joy,
I knew you'd enjoy the AA interview. She comments on some stuff we were wondering about. I specially like to know behind the scenes information and she provides plenty. Btw, I didn't know PTA had a baby while shooting .. That must have been difficult to juggle as well as for Amy. I don't know how could she possibly shoot having slept only 2 or 3 hours ...

Why would we not care about you?

Can you refresh my memory on this? What were we wondering about?

How do you manage? I mean, you might not have to shoot a film but presumably you have to work....

Well, if you didn't hear the "bad news" already, The Master and all involved got snubbed by the "New York Film Critics Circle Awards" this year:

New York Film Critics Circle Awards

They are seen as an indicator for how the Oscars will play out...

... but having said that, they gave Matthew McConaughey best supporting actor for Magic Mike and best picture and director to some U.S. propaganda film, in an 1984 type style history re-write Cursing

So, should we really take these awards seriously?

Hi Admin,

All things concerned, I think we are pretty civilized. I get that you are trying to protect your interests - that is the forum- but it's a bit too easy to simplify when you see two women fighting. I didn't do anything wrong.

Joy,
It's too bad you are bringing the personal into the forum. You must accept that your way is not the only right way. I think youaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa got stuck because you believe that friendships have obligations and I believe they don't. Since we have such a fundamental difference I suggested we moved on. Now you are punishing me on the forum for following my ideals. It's not fair.

Hello ladies,

I'm not sure where exactly the disagreement started, but for the most part it looks like it's more a case of communication not being interpreted as it was intended (mainly due to the limitations of the internet and forums). I'm sure if you had the same conversation face to face it would have panned out differently.

Anyway, hope you can both put it down to just one of those unfortunate things.

Yes Joy, I like Shooting Stars, although i preferred the earlier series (George Doors and Mark Lamaar), i don't think much of the newer series that came out in recent years. Do you watch many British shows Sami? Any favorites or not a fan?

The Master snubbed again! Mad

National Board of Review Picks Top Ten, Led by 'Zero Dark Thirty,' Shuts Out 'Life of Pi,' 'Hobbit,' 'Master'

Looks like the powers that be definitely want the propaganda film "Zero Dark Thirty" to get as much exposure as possible. And Bradley Cooper best actor this year, seriously? Glare

I'm glad you asked me this question Admin. I like Dowton Abbey. I can't wait for season 3 !! I also watched 3 episodes is Sherlock Holmes ( the new version) and liked it very much .

After watching Joaquin's face in The Master I can see the difference between good and bad actors. I think British tv shows have better actors than American. American TV actors barely have facial expression. They look like plastic barbies and Kens.
