Todd Haynes has revealed that he is working with Joaquin Phoenix in 2024.
“This is a project that Joaquin Phoenix brought me, which takes place in the 1930s. A love story between two men, based on an original, very daring scenario. This is, I think, his first gay role. I am very excited by this project!”

Joaquin Phoenix helped develop the original screenplay for his upcoming gay period drama film with Todd Haynes.
“Joaquin was pushing me further and going ‘no, let’s go further’ This will be an NC-17 film. We hope to be shooting it early next year.”
