I was thinking about Joaquin's artwork...

In 2006 he decorated a ceramic dog to be auctioned for a charity event. Unfortunately, I can't find a link anywhere to a photo of the dog. Crying I remember that the dog was painted with lots of doodles and writing in black, red and yellow and I think it raised the most money of all the dogs in the auction. Cool

Here's a link to info about the dogs and the auction:

Joaquin has also decoraed a lunchbox for The Lunchbox Fund which was auctioned to raise funds for the project.

These 2 photos are by Michael Muller and Joaquin used to own prints of either a) both of them or b) one or the other of them. I can't remember now. I wonder if he still has it/them?

I think this one is called 'Batman Smoking Crack'

I don't know what this one is called but it could be 'Stormtrooper Having A Smoke After Taking A Piss'. Laugh

Joaquin has also apparently bought 2 of this artist's paintings. Although the article doesn't say which paintings Joaquin bought, there are some examples of the artist's work on the link.

"I had always gone to galleries and began to self-promote," Hollenstein said. "I sold nine paintings at my first solo show with prices of $1,600 to $4,800. Actor Joaquin Phoenix walked out with two paintings that night."

It says "cuz it's funny in my ummy": for some reason Joaquin decided to omit the first letter of some of the words (cuz e's razy ike hat! Laugh ). I think the word is 'tummy'.

Maybe it is a game - changing the letters to make different phrases, for instance - but I wondered if the doodle characters are speaking in funny voices and that's why the letters are missing.

I found this on an obscure Russian website!!!

It's only one half; they didn't have a photo of the other side. Here it is though....Joaquin's Painted Dog.

UserPostedImage

The writing on the dog's hind leg says "Potatoes are easy to cook." Yes they are! BigGrin I remember that the other side of the dog had other bits and pieces of writing too.

What do you think of Joaquin's dog?

Haha, Admin. I can't help wondering why Joaquin wrote that about the potatoes. Unsure And it's written upside down too, compared with the other writings.

Mashed potatoes for me....preferably reds. Laugh
