I'm watching the BAFTAs now & Stephen Fry has just made a jokey reference to Joaquin and Scientology. I've forgotten it already - it was that good, haha - but the camera did pan to Joaquin (in profile) at the time and he had a little chuckle. Bless!
Haha! George Clooney just got a huge roar & round of applause for being HOT!

Now I'm wondering if there was some code in Stephen Fry's jokin' with Joaquin.

Joaquin looks fantastic! Glad he combed his hair! Although I'm not one for the beard, he definitely rocked it!

Yes, it's good Joaquin took the time and showed up to the BAFTAs and looked great! Unfortunately, the BAFTAs, like all the mainstream awards ceremonies, have become like The Eurovision Song contest... all very predictable and political. Just The Oscars in two weeks time now and we'll find out if Joaquin finally get's some well deserved recognition from the big awards ceremonies... Sarah Jessica Parker has just announced the winner of Best Actor BAFTA. We know who won already, of course, but they showed a clip of Freddie in the first interrogation scene from the film and cut to Joaquin in the audience when DDL walked up to the stage (Joaquin smiled but didn't show his teeth) and then again when DDL was speeching. Argo has won the Best Director & Best Film. Ben affleck, George Clooney & another guy (the producer) are on the stage now collecting their award. They've all got beards! In fact, a lot of the men there have beards. I thought Joaquin just didn't like to shave but now I'm wondering if it's a fashion statement? Dunno. He looks good, whatever. PS: That's a great photo from Instagram. Joaquin could have smiled though!

Loads of support on Twitter for Joaquin with most people acknowledging that he should win e.g. Pleased for emmanuelle Riva, Joaquin Phoenix's performance in 'The Master' is unmatched - should've won. Day Lewis political choice #BAFTA That comment is so true though, DDL is the political choice and will probs win at the Oscars

I can't believe I slept through it ! Sorry I missed the party I love the pics , Joaquin looks great whether its fashion or not he wears it really well , the beard that is... I'm really disappointed in the results . I thought much higher of the baftas .. I thought Since he got so much praise in London through critics award and they have an old drama school and tradition dating back to the renaissance , ... Gee, i had the impression that even though Joaquin hasnt been the best at promoting himself , they would be able to see through it. It just seems like a crime to me to nominate him and not give him best prize . The comments that ppl make after seeing the Master are : "Wow Joaquin Phoenix is just incredible " In contrast , the comments that ppl make after seeing Lincoln: "what a nice movie " ... As I said I haven't watched Lincoln but I wanna just to compare . I need to see it through my eyes .. Will Daniel make me laugh and cry at the same time too ?

I wouldn't be surprised if the final results where decided in some obscure room in the USG. There's so much social unrest these days they aren't going to promote a character like Freddie Quell.. See how They wanted to censor the Internet via Hollywood lobbying ( sopa ) remember ? They are all pals !

Not that Joaquin needs it, but a shining light for his chances at The Oscars is that by now people may have "Daniel Day Lewis" fatigue... ... I've seen Lincoln and it's OK. As i said previously it's not even Daniel Day Lewis' best career performance, and if he had done exactly the same level of acting in another movie that wasn't "Lincoln" (a U.S. political American patriotism propaganda movie), his acting would have got overlooked or barely acknowledged at that. We can now only look at The Oscars for some sanity! Is that an oxymoron? Edited by user Sunday, February 10, 2013 8:24:46 AM(UTC)

I actually never watched them before if I tell you the truth.. I would have for Joaquin only if he had won the BAFTAS but ... Well, that's the way the cookie crumbles ! I tell you what , we must be happy because Joaquin has won big time. The critics and the audience have given him the prize. Fuck yeah ! I hope Joaquin can feel the love from his fans right now
