(SPOILER ALERT)
I watched Ladder 49 over the weekend. What a terrific movie ! Every film I've watched with Joaquin so far has reached me in one way or another. He always gets involved in projects that turn things upside down, makes you think or see things differently. This film is so moving. The firefighter as a hero and a martyr. What a beautiful story ! I appreciate much more what firefighters do now.
I wish they had a chance to save him.. if it was now with a smart phone gps they would have found him sooner !!

The only thing that could be improved is the wife's role. It is a bit flat character, too passive for my taste. I enjoy movies in which the female roles are deeper. I look forward to Low Life with Marion Cotillard, perhaps the female lead will be more interesting.
