In anticipation of Joaquin's new movie "Her" directed by Spike Jonze. Here is a great and imaginative short story directed by Jonze called "I'm Here" (Note: not "I'm still Here", which is Joaquin's movie... it' all so confusing!): "I'm Here" 2010 a short film by Spike JonzeReally nice short film! "Her" is the next Joaquin film i'm most looking forward too! If you find anything else about the movie "Her" stick it in this thread! Edited by user Tuesday, February 26, 2013 6:48:55 AM(UTC)

Thanks for the film clip, Admin! I really liked it! Kind of funny, but sad too, that if his girlfriend lost her head, he'd be back to his old self again. Another Joaquin film to look forward to!

I'm curious about this film too. I have watched just one movie by Spike Jonze and I liked it a lot. It was called Adaptation w Nicholas Cage. It's a hilarious unpredictable film Have u seen any other movies by him?

I’m really bad at recalling the names of directors, writers, crew members and so on for films. So bad in fact, that I didn’t even know it was PTA who directed ‘There Will be Blood’ and ‘Boogie Nights’. I know! Incredible. Especially since I was blown away by TWBB. Anyway, I checked Spike Jonze’s imbd page and I’ve seen ‘Being John Malkovitch’. That’s all, apart from the short love story Admin posted above. If I get the opportunity I'll check out 'Adaptation'.

Okey Dokey, Sami. I don't know if we get Netflix here or not. Bound to be something I could subscribe to. I kind of like dvd's though. Next time I'm in the library I'll take a look for the film. They have a really good and varied selection of films.
Being John Malkovitch was a bit strange....saw it a loooong time ago.

What's good about Netflix is that the first month is for free and u don't have to sign any contract so u can get 1 month if free movies and if u don't want to continue u just cancel it .. Most ppl end up staying .. I don't use it as much lately though and I'm paying the monthly rate anyway .. Also, I know some ppl plug it into their TV so they have better image quality .. There is a lot if ppl with big TV screens in front of their bed'swall so they can watch it from there.. I didn't grew up like this so its weird for me , but I can see how others enjoy it I will give John Malkovitch a try anyway .. I will let you know what I think . Hugs :)

I just think the picture quality on my computer isn't as good as my tv. However, I don't have a big tv and not in my bedroom. I can lie down on the sofa to watch a film.

Hi Justme. Welcome to the forum. I can understand you being nervous, but just join in when you want to and we'll join in with you as we go along. Feel free to comment on any of the threads - even the ones which are currently lying dormant: they can always be revived....apart from the Oscars thread, because Admin closed that one. If you want to add a smiley to your post, just move your cursor over the relevant smiley (to the left of the massage box) and click...like this Her seems to have slipped off the radar a bit....

Yeah, I've been a fan for a couple of years now. I got into him right after he finished the I'm Still Here thing. I was home sick from school one day, and I remember that I was watching old DVDS. I put on Signs, which I hadn't seen in years, and literally spent the entire movie just staring at him. I remember my dad came home, and was like, "Oh, Mel Gibson's in that-" and I was like "Yeah, but what about the guy with the baseball bat?!" After that, I looked him up online and started watching all the films he was in. I remember I actually cried watching Gladiator for the first time. I know, overreaction. What about you? How long have you been a fan?

I think a lot of people really started to notice Joaquin after ISH - he was all over the internet in the run up to the film's release, so I think that helped. I love Signs! Joaquin is uber-gorgeous and funny as Merrill, but it's a good film too. I had seen Gladiator but I really started to follow Joaquin around the time of It's All About Love and The Village, then I watched some of his older films and have continued ever since. My fandom has gone through a few phases but once a Joaquin fan there's no turning back.

I posted this in reply to Kitten's post in another thread, but I guess it also needs posting in here too.
A Brand of His Own: Being Spike Jonze
Artist and entrepreneur. Pop culture instigator. Spike Jonze is one of the most original and intriguing filmmakers of our time and has managed to build a career on his own terms. From his early beginnings in skateboard and music videos, to the seventh-and-a-half floor, John Malkovich’s mind, Charlie Kaufman’s writer’s block and the fantasy world of Maurice Sendak, Jonze has developed his own unique brand of irony, humor, playfulness and visual style.
Spike comes to the Festival to discuss the creative process and highlights of his career. He might even give us a sneak peek of his upcoming film Her.
