They're from a photoshoot for 'Another Man' Magazine 2005 - the photographer is Craig McDean apparently.

I can see a few influences in AD's photography - maybe she finds inspiration in others' works. Huh

Anyone know the exact story behind Joaquin's "circle" tattoo on his arm? I think Casey Affleck has the same tattoo?

Wonder if Joaquin has any other tattoos?

From what I've read, the story behind Joaquin's tattoo is-he and Casey Affleck went to Italy for a week, got pretty drunk, and ended up deciding to get tattoos from a street artist. Joaquin always hated tattoos that meant something so he got a tattoo that signified absolutely nothing.
There's a bit of a funny story to it too-according to Joaquin in interviews, he went first and burst into tears while they were doing the tattoo. He once said Casey videotaped the whole thing and that on the tape he's clutching a bottle of wine, and sobbing "I can't do this, just stop the pain!" He said Casey was laughing the entire time and that he's still got the tape! I guess he's thankful it hasn't ended up public viewing yet!Laugh
But yeah, that's the story of how he got the tattoo. Joaquin apparently thought it was pretty funny afterwards.BigGrin

Oh, and yeah, Joaquin apparently has a tattoo on his ankle of a bumblebee wielding an axe!Confused It's the official tattoo of the fire department where he trained for Ladder 49, and he got it the same way every other firefighter who trains there does, as a mark that he'd completed the training.BigGrin

That's fantastic information there justme, many thanks! All i read is that the circle tattoo meant "nothing in particular", but now you've filled in the detail which brought it all about! BigGrin

I wondered who she is too. She's a very enthusiastic clapper, that's for sure.

 

To celebrate the forum being back I thought it would be nice to have a photo of Joaquin.
