Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master Confirmed For October Release http://www.cinemablend.c...tober-Release-30182.html
It's seemed like a foregone conclusion for a while now that Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master would get a release this year in prime Oscar season, given the stellar cast-- Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams-- the director's own pedigree, and the fact that it's coming from the Weinstein Company, the people who practically know how to mint Oscars. WIth no release date yet certain the movie's producer Megan Ellison reassured fans recently that it was on track for a release later this year, likely in October. Now that date has finally been guaranteed.
An update at Box Office Mojo has The Master set for release on October 12 this year, smack dab in the middle of Oscar season and also the New York Film Festival, which we previously speculated might host a premiere of the film-- or at least, a post-Cannes premiere, since the French festival also seems likely to go for Anderson's latest. Either way, it's a prime spot for what's got to be one of the most highly anticipated films of the year-- even if all you care about is The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises, when fall rolls around it's hard to imagine much better than a new film from Paul Thomas Anderson.
Joaquin Phoenix Attached To Star In Spike Jonze & Charlie Kaufman's Untitled Satire http://blogs.indiewire.c...aufmans_untitled_satire#
Bravo, Joaquin Phoenix, bravo. After effectively putting himself into the wilderness following the faux/mock-doc "I'm Still Here," he is marking his comeback by choosing a variety of fantastic projects. He's currently filming Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master," he's going to reteam with James Gray on the period drama "Low Life," and now he's lined up another outstanding project. Twitch reports that Phoenix is now attached to star in the gestating untitled project from the duo of Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman. Awesome. The film, backed by Megan Ellison's Annapurna Productions, now has additional support courtesy of Warner Bros. who are providing a home for the film. While it's not quite clear, we presume the former is financing with the studio set to distribute the picture. Details on the project are still under wraps but it seems as ambitious as their previous collaborations, 1999’s “Being John Malkovich” and 2002’s “Adaptation.” The film was previously reported to be “a satire about how world leaders gather to figure out all the seismic events that will take place in the world, from oil prices to wars that will be waged.” Jonze will direct from a script written by Kaufman. This likely means that the other project Jonze and Kaufman were shopping around town, “Frank or Francis,” is on the backburner for now. The scathing Hollywood story about the relationship between a film director and an online blogger was looking for financing, but this other project now seems to be off and running. Damn, what else can we say? Jonze and Kaufman have been away too long, but they are coming back in a blaze of glory. Filming is slated to begin next March.

I' ve never been to Cali. Those waves are so big !! They're amazing.I like the picture where Joaquin is talking to a boy, probably an extra. That's sweet!
