Oh, I'd forgotten about this. Wonder if Joaquin will put in an appearance? I know he's working on IV (or is he? Hehe) but he's in LA so might be able to pop in to the festival between takes or whatever. Then again, maybe PTA won't release Joaquin - he couldn't go to Cannes, could he?

And I'm in not-so-sunny England; but at least it's warm, bright and not raining where I am.Yet. Lol.

That's true. One day, people will have forgotten, or won't know, what it's like to actually touch someone.

That PTA's a hard task-master! Hehe.

Is that sweat, now, rather than drool then?
Maybe too hot for me, Kitten. I like it where I am atm. :)

Spike Jonze Explains Why Scarlett Johansson Has Been Plugged Into His New Movie
Spike Jonze Explains Why Scarlett Johansson Has Been Plugged Into His New Movie
So, the reason Scarlett Johansson was announced late (and out of the blue) is that she has replaced Samantha Morton as the voice of the computer in the movie. |

Maybe SJ thought SJ's voice was sexier? If I was SM I'd be pissed! What a waste of time and talent.

Here's what Jonze had to say about the recasting in an e-mail yesterday: I think, unfortunately, it's pretty normal in terms of my not-quite-painless-for-everyone-involved 'process' of discovering what the movie is. Samantha was with us on set and was amazing. It was only in post production, when we started editing, that we realized that what the character/movie needed was different from what Samantha and I had created together. So we recast and since then Scarlett has taken over that role. I love Samantha. I've been friends with her forever and I hope we make lots of things together in the future. Be well, Spike

Some positive reactions to the scenes from Her shown at the L.A. film festival:
"Spike Jonze just screened part of his new film, HER, for the first time to the public, JUST KNOW its going to be A MONSTER! "
"Spike Jonze just screened 2 scenes from his new film--looks beautiful. "

Hi Joy,
Well, i'm sure it will be disappointing for Samantha Morton, but i guess she still got a paid and will go on to make more films... it's yet up to the audience whether Scarlett Johansson is appropriate for the role... they could release a version on DVD with both actresses doing the computer's voice which is selectable so the viewer could choose which they like best

That's a great idea, Admin! Maybe you could suggest that to SJ? He might be up for it. Ask him to credit you if it happens..."From an original idea by Admin @ Joaquinphoenix.com"
Those are some fabulous comments from viewers. Not sure about the Montgomery Clift one though. Admittedly, I've only seen a couple of photos of Joaquin in the film, but he had a moustache and I don't think MC ever had one of those. *scratches head and tries to think of MC with a moustache* Anyway, it doesn't really matter; it's the viewer's feeling and who am I to say otherwise?
I just don't like moustaches, I guess. Unless they have a beard attached.
I tried to find an animated caterpillar but could only find this. Caterpillar .... moustache..... geddit? Oh, never mind. Lol.
Here's a singing grasshopper instead..... choose your own song for it to sing.

I do not think JP looks or anything like MC, no way. JP is his own man, hugs

I agree do not like the moustache , I love JP in a beard

I read release date November, and the pictures of JP with something in his pocket in a I phone so he can keep in touch with his computer girl, looks very cute

I'd never have guessed. I mean, you've only mentioned it about a zillion times. Hugs.

Try looking with sunglasses on, in a darkened room....maybe you'll see the likeness then. Haha.

Fingers crossed for that, although maybe next year for the UK? That's sweet about the phone. He's in luv. Hugs.

Thanks, Admin. Throws some light on why this film is taking forrrrrrrrrrrrevaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh to get to the cinemas. Sounds like it's going to be good. And deep. Thoughtful.
