I agree, Kitten. I meant that we haven't had much info or news about the film all this time.
I was wondering if Joaquin might put in an appearance at the Venice Film Festival in a couple of weeks, but I can't find Her or the Immigrant listed. Looks likely not then.

For now, yes, but best not stray too far from the kitchen sink, just in case Admin gets over-excited again.
The original gif won't come back!

The Curious Case of Joaquin Phoenix and the Oscar Prospects for 'Her'
"For a large amount of movie fans, Joaquin Phoenix is easily one of the best actors working in Hollywood today. In fact, after you get past Daniel Day-Lewis, he is arguably the second best currently in the business, and few would leave him out of a top ten regardless of other choices. Unlike Day-Lewis though, Phoenix's performances aren't automatically deemed worthy of Oscars and a nomination on his behalf is hardly a sure thing. In fact, sometimes (especially lately) Phoenix can have a harder road to a nod than someone else in the same role. Why is that, and what does that mean for his upcoming role this year in Spike Jonze's offbeat romance Her? Well, I have some thoughts on the matter, and they go well beyond his chances for a citation this year. Essentially, Phoenix's worst enemy when it comes to awards noms actually happens to be himself."

Who'dathunk??!! Duh.
That moustache... *cringe* I think my Joaquin-with-a-moustache phobia is going to be a major hurdle in my enjoyment of this film. Anyone know if there are any 'overcome-your-moustache-phobia' apps? Lol.

Hi Joy,
What if Joaquin was sporting this type of moustache?

TORONTO -- If your upcoming sci-fi romance hasn't been completed yet, what does one bring to the Toronto film fest? Compelling footage, that's what. On Sunday afternoon director Spike Jonze (Where the Wild Things Are, Being John Malkovich) previewed several clips from his futuristic love story, Her, which will be released on Dec. 18 (against George Clooney's Monuments Men) and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams and (the voice of) Scarlett Johansson. In the film, Phoenix's character downloads an advanced intelligent operating system to organize his life. What he didn't expect was to fall in love with the customized voice he was provided. Oops, We May Have Delayed the Completion of Spike Jonze’s Her
Jonze has a month until the film debuts at the New York Film Festival, and it’s nearly locked, but there were still hand-drawn placeholder graphics in some of the clips, waiting to be replaced in the next few weeks. I was so excited by the clips that I started peppering Jonze with granular questions about the world he created, many about Theodore’s workplace, BeautifulHandwrittenLetters.com. One, asked innocently enough, stopped Jonze: The letters Theodore dictates are printed out in perfect cursive, so do the clients send in handwriting samples for the computer to mimic? “We didn’t … yeah, uh, we didn’t think of that, that they should do handwriting samples,” Jonze said, stuttering. His publicist approached to whisk him away. “She’s undermining my confidence now,” he told her, gesturing to me and laughing. “Now I’m going to have to reshoot the movie.” “Oh Jesus, what did you do?” the publicist asked me. “You know that he’s going to go home tonight and try to figure out a way to stick that in. We can’t have this! I need the movie to be ready in three weeks!” She appeared to be joking, but studio paranoia about Jonze’s neurosis and obsession with detail had the ring of truth. I apologized, and then for good measure tossed out the idea that Jonze do a behind-the-scenes mockumentary tour of the BeautifulHandwrittenLetters.com operations. “If you tell him that, he will go home and start working on that tonight,” the publicist said, and refused to let me near him again. But he came back around anyway. “I’m going to put that in there, the handwriting samples,” he said, quickly and furtively, like delivering a spy message, “and pretend I thought of it.”

"Johansson spoke with director Darren Aronofsky for the latest issue of Interview Magazine, and within she described her experience working with Jonze, with whom she was working for the first time. She already knew him through “Moneyball” director Bennett Miller, but when he asked her to come in for an trial voice session to go over the script (penned by Jonze) and a rough cut of the film, the session lasted nine hours. Needless to say, she got the part."

Jonze Finds 'Generous' What Schrader Deemed One Big 'F**k You'
"From what I've seen, Her now runs approximately two hours long so Soderbergh's assistance helped Jonze remove about 30 minutes from the film. It would be interesting to hear more about the difference in the edits, but I would suspect with so much time between now and the film's release, we'll definitely get more along the way."
