I'm a recent fan, thanks to Joker. Since then, however, I've come to learn that you are an active and ardent activist for the powerless and the voiceless. I find your animal activism inspiring, though I am not personally a vegan myself ( I apologize for that. ) I am trying to get better. I love how you don't just talk, or point the blame at others. You say you are not perfect, either, and that we all must come together to do better and effect change for a better world. Thank you for using your platform and popularity to speak out on these issues .
If anything , your speech last night made me - among others - love and respect you even more. Though I'm sure your words ruffled a few feathers, those words were needed. Hopefully in the future we WILL have more diversity at these award shows.
If we do, we'll have you to thank, although you are not the type of person who would ever admit to such a thing. Because of your activism, I have cut down on my meat and dairy intake. Now I refuse to wear wool. I never wore fur a day in my life. I am not 100% there, and I may never attain perfection, but without your leadership I never would have given a damn or second-thought to such things. Unfortunately I suffer from a chronic illness so I may need make it to LA to attend an LA Animal Save vigil, but I promise that I will keep trying to find a way. Visiting LA is on my bucket list, anyway, ha ha.
That's basically all I have to say. I'll probably never have the chance to meet you in person, so I just want to say thank you for making Joker, and thank you for everything else you're doing. Sending my love.
