Interesting article post two year anniversary of Jokers release.

The reviews from Slate and The New Yorker were way off, with the latter critic claiming that Joaquin’s acting was “unmotivated”.😒 Don’t think so and I’m not speaking as a fan either.🙄
It seems as if there was a backlash after the initial reviews and awards came in. This paranoia by the press believing the film would encourage mass
shootings thankfully was a non story by the time award season rolled out.
I also think there was a certain amount of unfair film snobbery about Joker supposedly borrowing from Taxi Driver and King of Comedy.

the press sucks, thank God it didnt have any mass shootings, as press originally thought. i dont follow many reviews, very few if any. i like to go to the movie and form my own opinion myself. but i agree with u.
