I haven't seen TDF yet. (I told you I wasn't the world's best Joaquin fan!) What's so good about this film?

It was Joaquin's first film after taking a break from acting (1991-1995) for obvious reasons. Casey Affleck is in it also... i think that's the movie they became best buddies on? As Sami said, someone has stuck it on YouTube (split into parts):

Admin,
Just to clarify.. I don't think Joaquin ever sucked in a movie. His movies, I rate them A- , A, or A+ but never less than A .. I might be biased though !

I spent a lot of time travelling in the 80s & 90s so I missed a lot of popular culture from that time….I have some catching up to do! Thanks for the Youtube info about the film both of you: I’ll try and watch the film in instalments throughout the week. The other Joaquin films I haven’t seen are: SpaceCamp; Russkies; Parenthood; U Turn; Inventing the Abbotts; Return to Paradise and Brother Bear. sami wrote:Just to clarify.. I’ve enjoyed in different ways all the films I’ve seen Joaquin in. The Village was a daft film requiring some suspension of dis-belief for me, plus I could see the ending coming a mile off, but the Joaquin factor was high. Ladder 49 was too formulaic and saccharine for my tastes but again, the Joaquin factor was high. The best thing in 8mm was Joaquin. I’ve seen the film twice and both times it made me feel queasy.
