What didn’t work was eliminating the film clips during the presentation of nominees so the viewer has an idea what the movie is about.
The writer of the article is correct. We’re supposed to be celebrating a visual medium. It would be like watching the Grammys without any music. Instead, Soderbergh decided it would be a fabulous idea for presenters to give these long rambling speeches that were as entertaining as waiting for water to boil.
The In Memoriam was botched up too and I heard they left out people like Jessica Walter.
It’s been reported that Anthony Hopkins was not allowed to Zoom his acceptance because again the producers thought it would be low class to use Zoom for the Oscars (eye roll). At least I was able to find time to do other things around my apartment before Joaquin presented.

I couldnt agree more Calli, it was a real snooze fest. and thats soo sad that they thought about that way with zoom.. he had to do a separate video cos of it.. What an inconvenience it mustve been for Anthony. .. oh lucky you.. i got stuck watching the whole dang thing waiting for joaquin lol. but at least they saved the best for last!! :) :) :)

Lol. That must’ve been tough Mystaria. I just had the show running while doing other things and would keep coming back to check.
