Well... i watched the movie at least...but original version so i am in need to watch it again to understand correctly some details.
I really didn't feel atracted about the plot but about the context of the movie.
I am very interested in social movements history and i did a course about black women social movenents in USA by the internet.
In it it appeared some things which is possible seeing in the movie...as the confrontation between nazis groups and black rights defenders...
I think i read the book...

I am interested in the civil rights movement. It's interesting that you picked up on this in the film; that aspect didn't really click with me.

I think that the #1 goal was to make the movie a little more interesting...I don't really think that the goal was to go into all the social movements in depth...just to get us thinking about them a little....

A bit like Forrest Gump @ the Black Panther party maybe. Not central to the story, more a device to move the story along and place it in context.
