Hi,
Well, I have a suggestion.. you could promote a bit more this forum so that more people would join. You don't need to promote a lot but for example, I had a conversation with somebody on youtube about ISH, he seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about movies and he liked Joaquin as an actor. You could go to places like this .. also cinema websites and just leave the link there, just let people know this exists. To tell you the truth it took me a while to find it.. I had to look for it cause it doesn't show on google search.

Thanks for the suggestions Sami, and thanks for supporting the site with your contributions.
In terms of advertising the site, we'd prefer to take the approach of not spamming the website all around the internet just for the sake of getting extra hits and users.
We'd prefer for Joaquin fans to want to make the most of the forum offered here.
If they are true fans they should have no problem finding joaquinphoenix.com, it should be one of the obvious places to try for true fans!
So, think of the lack of advertising as a "natural filter" to stop people who aren't really fans from finding and using the forum.
But, feel free to invite any other fans you find around along, and make the most of the forum to talk and share all aspects Joaquin.

Another question: How come you have only posted 6 posts since May 8 2010? I have posted 10 times more than you in a third of this time. Didn't you create this forum to talk about Joaquin? Why don't you talk about him then?

Hi Sami,
The forum was simply created to provide a place for Joaquin Phoenix fans to talk about Joaquin and related subject matter.
You've done a great job in contributing, hopefully over time others will come along and do as good a job as yourself.
Maybe Joaquin's very exciting looking upcoming movies will be a catalyst for more fans to join the forum. |

I have a suggestion. about your Guest options.. why not make it restricted? Cos if they are allowed to see everything as a guest, it will not make them want to join the site. just a thought:) That's most likely why you have so many guests on at 1 time. it might be a good idea to a restrict forum for members access only.:) cos you never know whos' coming over looking at stuff and taking away things too!!

Hi Mystaria, Yeah, I did think about making the forum only readable by members, but on balance decided against it.
It's fair to say that we do get a lot of readers and only a loyal band of contributors!  Keeping the forum open to all does allow search engines to crawl the entire site and therefore people can find relevant forum posts about Joaquin via the search engines.  There are a lot of return visitors, If I remember it's roughly 50/50... 50% of visitors are returning visitors and 50% are new visitors.
There is a members only area "Not about Joaquin". Maybe I could set-up a Joaquin relevant members-only section if enough members want it?  |

I just thought that it could help your membership up a bit. if you did. I understand tho about the balance. Members only section would be SWEEEEEEEET!!!! I hope people are for it;)

How could we get already registered members to come back and post regularly? I would like to get to know some of the current members who have not been on for a while.

Joy is a regular poster who's currently taking a break. Kitten pops by every so often. Fedupandstressed seems to have disappeared though? 
You could try PM'ing specific people you're interested in contacting?
Things have been quite in the world of Joaquin the past few months, but now with new movies filming and other movies due to be released we should be getting more and more readers... who will hopefully also take the time to contribute  |
