I'd love to see Woody Harrelson get a part in this movie... |

Also in the book there is a British band called "Spotted Dick" ... it's only a small section of the book, i wonder if they'll get any British actors for those parts? Could be very Spinal-Tap-esque

Do they still make that stuff in the tins?
I don't think I've seen anything with KW in it but PTA must like her and if she has to dye her hair blonde for the role, it's a small price to pay to be in a PTA film. I don't think Reese would have got her tits out, anyway. Well, not on screen. Lol.
I see Kitten's happy about this choice over Reese.
I wonder if Owen Wilson will be in the band?

Yes Kitten, i like Joaquin's look as Doc Sportello:
I'm sure Doc Sportello is only 29 years old though... so why the grey hairs? Looking forward to see the Afro though! Which is suppose to be white Edited by user Tuesday, June 4, 2013 4:00:57 AM(UTC)

I have no idea, Kitten. Isn't the book set in San Francisco? Yes, break a leg for the new film, Joaquin.
Love the pics! Yes, Joaquin does look taller but that might just be the editorial process - I think they stretch some photos to fit copy and that can distort the image. I doubt they had Joaquin on the stretching rack to give him a few more inches in height. Lol.
Joaquin's look for the film reminds me of Noddy Holder from Slade...
Lol. Well, maybe not an exact copy, but if you squint your eyes a little. Haha.

Here's some more info....
What these pictures also reveal is that Anderson's longtime partner, a very pregnant Maya Rudolph, has also joined the film in what looks to be a minor role: Petunia Leeway, a nurse at Dr. Buddy Tubeside's vitamin shop. In the novel, Dr. Tubeside is known for injecting his patients with a "B-12" energy shot not unlike the one that showed up a few weeks ago on "Mad Men" and his nurse Petunia is described as "a stunner in a starched cap and micro-length medical outfit, not so much an actual nurse uniform as a lascivious commentary on one."

Wow, Admin! How did you manage all that?? I tried, but couldn't even manage a thumbnail. Anyway....Thank you! Hugs!
admin wrote:His hair isn't white and it's not an Afro though... nevermind, i like the overall look!
Well, maybe PTA isn't going to film the book word for word and is going to allow himself a bit of artistic license? Or is it licence? Hmm, I always get those two mixed up. Practice or practise? Lol. I must practice the correct use of the word practise. Do I need a licence to use the word license? Actually, both of those words don't look right now that I've taken a good look at them. Just a weird combination of letters. Haha. Too much er....sugar.
Anyway, yeah, Joaquin doesn't have a white afro atm but he might later on in the filming. Eek!

You're "loosing" your mind Joy!
Oh, and while i think about it... Inherent Vice is a bit like The Master in the sense that it doesn't really go anywhere, no big ending... it's really characters just interacting with twists and turns along the way as Doc tries to figure out what's going on. |

Sounds just like this forum.
I think these are the kind of films that PTA likes to make..? Character studies rather than straight-forward stories with beginnings, middles & ends.
