Well, it's coming up to that time of year again! That time of year Joaquin loves the most... awards season!  The major film awards are just around the corner, will Joaquin get nominated for his acting in Her and/or The Immigrant?
Well, to start off, looks like Joaquin has been snubbed by the Satellite awards (what ever the hell they are )

12 Years a Slave" leads with the most nominations (10) for Satellite Awards bestowed by the International Press Academy, an organization spun off from the Golden Globes two decades ago. "American Hustle" and "Gravity" follow with 8 nominations.

Often the Satellites do not agree with the Oscars. In recent years they opted for "Silver Linings Playbook" (2012), "The Descendants" (2011) and "The Social Network" for Best Picture when the Academy Awards hailed "Argo," "The Artist" and "The King's Speech," but their nominations list often tattle on Oscar leanings. Surprising omissions from their Best Picture list: "The Butler," "Dallas Buyers' Club," "Nebraska" and "Philomena." Curious omissions in the acting races: Joaquin Phoenix ("Her") and Jonah Hill ("The Wolf of Wall Street").

BEST ACTOR

Christian Bale, "American Hustle" (Sony)
Bruce Dern, "Nebraska" (Paramount)
Leonardo DiCaprio, "The Wolf of Wall Street" (Paramount)
Chiwetel Ejiofor, "12 Years a Slave"(Fox Searchlight)
Tom Hanks, "Captain Phillips" (Sony)
Matthew McConaughey, Dallas Buyers Club (Focus Features)
Robert Redford, "All Is Lost" (Lionsgate/Roadside Attractions)
Forest Whitaker, "The Butler" (The Weinstein Company)

Will Joaquin win anything this 2014 awards season?  Will he want to win anything? Maybe if the award was a life time supply of cigarettes he'd show more enthusiasm!

Don't forget the Golden Globe awards are this Sunday (January 12th, 2014)!

Joaquin is nominated for Best Leading Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical for his performance in Her!

Let the rampant speculation by fans begin now of what he'll be wearing, how he'll have his hair, who he'll bring with him, whether he'll dash through the red-carpet or not, smoking or non-smoking, if he'll crack a smile or not... or whether he'll actually turn up at all

Either way, have fun at the circus Joaquin! Mmmmm... carrots!

Is it allow to smoke in the red carpet?... I bet he will wear a suit..., and I have read  here in the forum that he has a nice girlfriend... so maybe she is who will be brought with him to walk the red carpet... because it's the normal thing!
So luck to the man!

Yeah, Joaquin's smoked on the red carpet a few times, ha ha!

I don't know if he'll bring his girlfriend. Even when he's been with someone in the past, he's brought his mother or his sisters with him-I think it's just a Joaquin thing. And Bradley Cooper brought his mom last year.

Anyway, I don't know if it'll be Allie he brings. I think it'll be sisters or mom. Or publicist. Last year, he brought his mom to the Golden Globes, his publicist to the BAFTAs and his sister Rain to the Oscars. I guess there's a round robin of family phone calls made when Joaquin's nominated for something.

The publicist? This is a nice detail! So everything stand by home... I was going to say: Poor girlfriend! But she will be luck to not have spend money in a dress...

If Joaquin gets an invite to the Oscar's this year i'd recommend he walk the red carpet wearing this rather subtle, but captivating, outfit:

Admin, you're being silly. Joaquin would never turn up to such a prestigious event dressed as an actual carrot! Haha.

I think these would be perfect for Joaquin & Allie (if she goes with him). They do seem to like dressing alike.

You guys don't be silly ! Don't you see the best thing Joaquin can do is to show up with a crocodile on a leash. Train it to smile to the paps and bring a bag of carrots to feed it while we are at it.
All the carrots go to the beast ! Problem
solved :)

Wonder what PeTA would think about a crocodile on a leash at The Oscars

No BAFTA for Joaquin this year ... Looks like they've completely snubbed Her altogether!!

Maybe it's because Her is released on the 14th February in the UK and the actual awards ceremony which is on the 16th of February, which means the film hasn't been on release long enough in the UK and can't be nominated?

We all know what PETA would think. Not that I think that would happen but if it did the press/media would have a field day. Anyway, there's bound to be plenty of croc boots, shoes, belts, handbags, etc., at the Oscars not to mentions a few old crocs in the audience at the ceremony.

Okaaay, so I thought that 'Her' was opening here in mid-January. BUT I WAS WRONG!!  ffs!   Another month to wait - but just in time for Valentine's Day.

Yes, that must be the reason why 'Her' & Joaquin didn't receive any nominations. Quite right too. Would have been wrong to nominate a film that hadn't opened here before the nominations. I hear that Amy Adams has been nominated for 'American Hustle' though.

I'm not gonna stress about whether he'll win or not this time. Just for fun

Too bad the bafta's didn't go through this year.. it makes sense though, I'm sure if the timing had allowed he would have been nominated as well.
Joy, it sucks you have to wait another month to watch the movie, on the other hand you know it's going to be worth waiting for ! It is really nice. I wouldn't mind watching it again!

They're currently covering the red carpet arrivals at the Golden Globes...

... keep an eye out for Joaquin to go running by in the background!  That is, if he turns up at all?

Be very interesting if this tweet is true!

It's rumored that Joaquin Phoenix (who's rumored to play Lex Luthor) shaved his head! We'll find out on the Golden Globes tonight! !

So Joaquin didn't walk the red carpet? Aside from the hair, is this a repeat of last year's GGs?
